We Got a Camera! Hopefully?

So as a lot of you know we have been having trouble finding a camera. When I say camera I am not talking about a Camera at Wal-Mart or Best Buy, I am talking about a Pro-Grade camera.

Well as it turns out we were forced to buy a camera that is not of the best quality for production but it is very good. I used the camera as the media director at summer camp. It is 3ccd and has a microphone input and cost me less then two hundred on E-bay!

(On a side note, if you have a ministry and do not use E-bay...Get on the Ball, It is a great way to save money and get good stuff for the use of the Glorification of God!)

It is a great camera with vibrant color, like all things on E-Bay all you can do is pray that it works...So pray for that...I believe it will, because the main goal of getting this camera was to use it for God's Glory to show his creative power through people like us and of course...Save Souls.

Anyways it arrives tomorrow and the batteries and charger will all get here separately so I will not know if it works till later on this week.

Comments:
While I whole heartedly agree that Christians show look and take advantage of great buys like you find on E-Bay and other non-Christian sites, we as Christians are commanded to have a higher set standards when spending the money the Lord has allowed us to have. The Bible states to - Seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and .... - now what this means is that every Christian makes up the kingdom and every Christian owned business is part of that kingdom and what I think the Lord is commanding is that when He allows us to go into the world and earn a living we are taking money from the world and bringing it into kingdom ownership and that we, when given a choice, need to reinvest that kingdom money back into kingdom work so that the whole kingdom continues to grow and have influence. So many times I hear the comment that, I saved money and that has to please God?? I don't care how much money you saved if you did not reinvest it back into the kingdom then you broke his instruction. There is no middle ground. The foe has persuaded Christians to worship the "sale" because he knew we would never worship mammon (money) but is it not the same? His goal is to limit every Christian work by convincing Christians that it doesn't matter how you spend the money God has entrusted to you but that you at least got it on sale!!! One day we will have to give an answer for the other 90%. Think about it!!!

I do not think I was telling people to "Worship the Sale"...

All the video equipment I buy I use for my ministry. All of It. Anytime someone gives me money for Transplant Ministries (Which is very rare) The money has gone towards video equipment. Video Equipment is very very expensive. I can easily spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in one setting and not come close to what I need to get this Ministry going.

So what I have done is gotten a lot of my stuff on ebay. (Maybe it does limit God by saying "Thank you for the Sale", ok your right, But what I was simply saying was that for example the Camera I got on eBay for this trip cost 600 dollars. I got in on eBay for for 175. That's a huge help to someone who is trying to get their ministry going. From here and there donations...It also leaves 425 dollars to invest in Gospel Tracts from WOTM (A Kingdom Builder) and about 20 MiniDV tapes, a Sticky Pod (Suction Cup Camera Mount for Inside Car), Lapel Microphone, Camcorder Batteries and Charger, SteadyCam Mount all of Which Agape does not carry...Plus this is very minimalistic and not the highest quality that we would like to have.

I agree with where your coming from owning a Christian Book Store and I think it is a good idea for Christians to support local Christian Owners and Ministries and everything, but there are No Christian Video Production stores in VA, I would gladly buy pro video equipment from your store if you sold it.

I wasn't condemning you about your purchase of equipment on E-Bay and maybe I should have been more specific, but it was really in response to the promotion that others should by their supplies on E-Bay. But I also had in my response the phrase "When given a choice." I would love to purchase my groceries from a Christian but in this area we don't have a choice so I'm left to making the best choice. I fully understand the deals that are on E-Bay and I have actually purchased product on the site so I don't shun the use of E-Bay. The rest of my comments are part of my sermon I have developed on Kingdom Priorities which I believe most Christians do not understand the importance of.

No offense Taken....
