Open Air Buckroe Beach (Sermon on the Mount)

This is me and my friend Rett open air preaching for "Sermon on the Mount" Saturday. Instead of simply reading the scripture we thought it would be neat to Tag-Team preach and read and expound on the text. It allowed us to get the Gospel out every few verses and every few moments. I believe it went really well, would love to have your comments.

Black Friday Open Air Preaching...Live at Circuit City, Toys R Us and Bass Pro Shop

These videos are just the audio I grabbed from my Cell Phone's Recorder, just trying to make Open Air Preaching Relevant... ;-)

Part one of Transplant Ministries Black Friday Open Air Preaching Adventure...

After about a minute of preaching I was bombarded by a Circuit City employee who told me I could not practice my first amendment right in the parking lot. I nicely asked what would happen if I do not stop and he told me nothing. So I continued preaching.

As soon as I continued the Circuit City manager runs over to me and tells me that she will

do something and threatened calling the cops on me.

As I was talking to her, a boy comes up and hands me a tract that we were passing out and asks if I want one, I ask him if he wants one and then I ask the manager if I can pass out the tracts if I do not preach. She actually agreed to let me pass out the tracts so we did.

Part two of Transplant Ministries Black Friday Open Air Preaching Adventure...

After the people we were graciously allowed to pass out tracts at Circuit City, we went right across the parking lot to the huge line of people at Toy's R Us and Target.

Part Three of our Black Friday Open Air Preaching Adventure...

After Circuit City and Toys R Us opened up, we left go visit Bass Pro Shop in Hampton, VA. We passed out tracts to all the people in line. This is the Marcus Pittman's open air from the sidewalk....

The Effect of High Gas Prices on The Gospel.

So, the other day I was filling up my small two door oldsmobile and was shocked that it cost forty bucks to fill it up. It's only a 12 Gallon Tank! Being in full time ministry and working on my own you never know where the next dollar is going to come from so the first thought I had was "Is it worth it to go to Virginia Beach every week and share the Gospel"

Virginia Beach is probably the greatest place to do open air in the summer, the boardwalk is thick with people, and the giant hotels echo your voice without much effort...However it's about forty miles from where I live. Normally not a big deal and most of the time we car pool. But it got me thinking.

Maybe the High Gas prices will force people to share the Gospel closer to home...

Would I normally spend a Saturday night sharing the Gospel at our local beach? No not normally, but now it seems to be a very good option. What if the sole purpose of these high Gas prices had nothing to do with economy and drilling, but everything to do with effecting WHERE Christians share the Gospel.

How many people will not be driving long distances for vacation? How many people will be forced to stay home this year?

Maybe God can use this high dollar ball and chain to make us become missionaries in our own neighborhood and city.

After all...Everything...works for His Glory, whether we like it or not.

Marcus

Open Air Encounter with a Mormon!

I guess to set this up, Matt from RichmondBET.org was preaching just as it seemed to die down from the first onslaught of hecklers that we had. Over in the distance, we see this heard (If that's the proper name for a group of Mormons) coming our way in ties and shirts. I grab my camera and just as I hit record...well, just hit play...and be warned...it gets a little angry.

The truth is that The Law of God reveals the inner nature of humanity. This guy was clearly bothered by the Law of God and how God uses our sin to show His Glory. I guess they left that out in LDS Sunday School.

After the video this guy and several other Mormons hung around for what must have been an hour. Hopefully they were convicted and tomorrow the Mormon church will be a few less.

Open Air Preaching - College Tour Day 3 - VCU

I admit I have not been Open Air Preaching many times, I just started at the end of last summer, and the weather in the winter makes it hard. But of all the places I have open air preached, I have never meet more people, more hecklers, and more Mormons that just out right hated the Gospel. The crew from RichmondBET.org handled themselves very well, I learned a lot and was honored to follow them around with my camera. Despite the ridiculous amount of protest, it like it always did helped gather a crowd who was ready to answer questions and engage in amazing discussions about the Savior and what he did for them...

An atheist stands side by side Rob raising her voice to overpower him.

She was reading from "The Gospel According to The Flying Spaghetti Monster" ...no really.

The Sign reads as follows "Surgeons General: Standing to close to these people may increase your chance of becoming an IDIOT"
